Resources for Trauma Support

Survivors of sexual assault are the eyes and ears of justice. Sexual assault affects millions of people around the world. In the United States, for example, every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. This is an alarming statistic. But the USA is not among the top 10 countries in the world with the highest rape rates – Botswana, Australia, Lesotho, South Africa, Bermuda, Sweden, Suriname, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Grenada. And sadly, we know that most survivors of sexual assault do not report their assault even in the age of the MeToo Movement.

Survivors of sexual assault often struggle in silence. They don’t speak up because they are afraid of retaliation. They are afraid they will be blamed, shamed, and shunned. They fear they will not be believed and lose support. So they suppress their voices and don’t speak their truth, and this ends up hurting them.
It became increasingly clear that SocialMeToo had stumbled upon people who are receiving daily offensive sexual imagery, threatening and abusive messages on social media platforms like Linkedin. This is where business is done.
